I’m writing because all of LATAM is experiencing sudden and extremely high ping spikes. This can show up as world latency, home latency, or even both at the same time — and it changes randomly. Even after several relogs, each new connection may show a different combination of these three issues.
Before posting here, I checked the situation to make sure the issue wasn’t on our side. Normally, “Home” latency points to the player’s connection and “World” latency to the server. However, after multiple relogs and even switching proxies, the problem keeps changing between Home, World, or both at random. This makes it unlikely that it is a player-side issue and suggests a routing or proxy problem affecting LATAM connections.
Switching proxies does help, but only for a few minutes. We even have to relog several times during M+ runs, and the keystones end up deleveling due to lost time and multiple deaths caused by disconnecting in the middle of combat.
Everything is running smoothly and then, out of nowhere, we get +8000 ms world latency. The game stays like that for a few minutes until it disconnects us (in fact, pressing Alt+F4 is faster, since the latency doesn’t go back down once it spikes).
I opened a ticket about this and a GM kindly sent me the link to this forum.
Is there anything we can do on our end? For example, would connecting through a VPN in Moscow solve the issue?
Or maybe a proxy server dedicated to LATAM could help?
I really hate bothering GMs, but this is truly unplayable when it happens, and we’ve been dealing with this for almost a month.
