I was doing the quest Ace of the Air on my level 72 priest when, after mounting the drake, I got too close to a Scourged Flamespitter Elite.
Out of nowhere, it killed my drake and immediately shredded me in just a couple of hits. I had no time to react, dismount, or use any cooldowns. Just instant death.
This kind of mechanic feels extremely punishing, especially in Hardcore where a single mistake or bad hitbox positioning costs everything.
Attaching a screenshot of my death as proof.
RIP.

Greetings! We checked the quest and while it does require some planning (after all, you are granted a dragon with whole new set of spells), the mobs seem to behave like they should be - they are powerful, but quite manageable with SOME preparation. Basically, you are required to understand new dragon spells that are given to you - the heal over time effect can stack and should be stacked, the flame shield can reduce good amounts of damage in those occasions when enemy dragons decide on using their arcane surges, etc.

This quest and those elites are a non-issue if you prepare accordingly, and hardcore mode is designed to be punishing for those who do not.

Heres a video of a player doing this exact quest and fighting this exact elite dragon on retail wow, almost losing all of his dragon's health in a single arcane surge:

The spells are there for a reason, as such I am to deny your ressurection.
